BFSSS Students got gold in ‘Idea Cup’

Students of BFSSS are performing excellently in all fields whether it is academics or sports. An Idea cup on District level was organized by Idea Company at Police Public School, Bathinda on 12,13 December, 2012. Various sports were held under this. The students of the school participated in Athletics and Judo championship. 2 students of BFSSS Kuljeet Grover and Mandeep got first position by bagging gold medal in Judo championship. The victorious students were congratulated by the Principal of the school Mr. Baljinder Singh on their marvelous victory. Managing Director, BFGI, S. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal also expressed his happiness on this achievement by the students and hope that the students of BFSSS will continue excelling in every field.

STUDENT OF BFSSS BROUGHT LAURELS IN ‘NATIONAL LEVEL SCIENCE FAIR’

A National level Science fair was organized at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This fair included models from all over Northern India. In this fair students of Baba Faird Sr. Sec. School participated under the kind Supervision of Mr. Munish Kumar (Lect. in Computer).
The students exhibited a model on Computer Water Cooling system. The model was appreciated by the judges as well as the schools which visited the fair and the model got a special consolation prize for its unique idea. The Management and the school authorities expressed their happiness on this achievement. Mr. Baljinder Singh, Principal, BFSSS congratulated the winners as well as the teacher. Managing Director, BFGI S. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal also appreciated the efforts of students & teachers on getting this great victory.

Outstanding performance by BFCET students Won overall Runner-up Trophy at PTU Inter College Youth Festival

Baba Farid College of Engineering & Technology won overall Runner-Up Trophy by achieving positions in various events of PTU Inter College Zonal Youth Festival held at LLRIET, Moga. The Students of BFCET set the victory ball rolling by participating with a great enthusiasm and gusto in various cultural events.

More than 20 Engineering colleges of Bathinda, Malout, Moga, Muktsar, Faridkot, Ferozepur, Barnala and Mansa participated in this festival. Sidhant (ME 3rd Sem) got first position in Poster Making, Apurva (IT 3rd Sem) bagged first position in Elocution. The College also won gold Medals in Bhangra and Mime competitions. Manpreet Kaur (ECE 3rd Sem) and Ranu Mishra (IT 7th Sem) also stood second in Poem Recitation & Mimicary respectively while Phankar Sharma (CSE 5th Sem) stood second in Punjabi Folk Song & Light Vocal Indian. BFCET won Silver Medals in Play, Skit and Group Song Indian also. The students of BFCET bagged 4 gold and 7 silver medals in 11 events and glory the name of college.

Er. Manish Goyal, Principal, BFCET applauded and congratulated the winners of various events. He added that BFCET always tries to explore hidden talent in their students and good response is given by our students.

S. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, BFGI, appreciated the students for participating in such events and congratulated the winners. He also told that before this success BFCET has also achieved excellent academic results. 4 students of BFCET got listed in PTU merit List, namely Amritpal Kaur from Civil Engg. Branch & Sunny Kumar from IT Branch has scored 4th and 8th merit positions. Students of B.Tech.Civil Engg. of batch 2008-12 namely Om parkash and Navneet Gupta also got 5th & 6th positions in merit. More than 70 students got more than 80% marks and 10 students got more than 85% marks. He congratulated and appreciated the efforts made by teachers for motivating the students & for helping them to make their bright future.

Baba Farid College wins the Inter College Zonal Cricket tournament

Baba Farid College got first 1st position in ‘Inter College Zonal Cricket tournament which was organized by Punjabi university, Patiala at Cricket Stadium of Police Line, Bathinda. This tournament was host by Baba Farid College. The Chief Guest of the tournament was Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, BFGI.

10 teams participated in this tournament of Zone D. The Final match was played between Baba Farid College and Khalsa College, Patiala in which Khalsa College Patiala’s team scored 150 runs in 20 overs with 5 wickets and the team of BFC achieved this target in 19th over. Maninder Mani, captain of the team gave the glory to his team’s hard work, Coach Rachhpal Singh , Team Manager Ajitpal Singh & Incharge Phy. Education Mr Jasvir Singh for this victory. Maninder Mani was the best performer with 36 scores in 25 balls by 1 six and 7 fours. Sherbaz got 30 run by 3 six and 1 four while Amandeep scored 21 runs in 10 balls by 2 sixes and one four. At last in 19th over BFC team won by 4 wickets.

Mr. Dhaliwal congratulated the team on their victory and motivated the students for such more achievements in their life. Dr. Pardeep Kaura, Dy. Director (Academics) and Principles of different colleges, Head of the different departments and faculty members also congratulated the winner team.

Lecture on the Indo-Japanese cultural interaction held at BFGI.

Dr. Yoshihiro Kaburagi, Lecturer, Osaka University of commerce, Higashi Osaka and lecturer Nanzan University, Nagoya visited Baba Farid College. Prof Dilshad Ali, Head, Department of Humanities welcomed the guests.
Dr. Y. Kaburagi delivered a lecture on the Indo-Japanese cultural interaction over one thousand years for the students of M.A. Ist (History) and M.A. IInd (History). He deliberated on various spheres of the Indo-Japanese history such as History, Religion, Commerce, Art and Architecture etc. He made an illustrating Power Point presentation showing different slides of Cultural and Art-activities between India and Japan since over past one thousand years. Dr. Pardeep Kaura, Dy. Director (Academics), Baba Farid Group of Institutions said that the students were benefitted from this lecture. S. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, BFGI appreciated these efforts of BFC and promised to organize such lectures in future also.

A Topnotch Opportunity for Final Year Graduates IBM Global Process Services Hires 8 Students of BFGI

BFGI steered its placement initiative by conducting a campus placement drive of IBM Global Process Services in its premises on 23rd August, 2012 and the final year graduatesfrom all the streams (passing out 2013 batch) were eligible to take part in this recruitment drive.The company selected the candidates with good communication skills and knowledge in computer hardware and networking concepts were considered secondary factors in their recruitment process.The company offered the job role of ‘Practitioner’ and the offered job locations are Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, NCR and Chandigarh. This job role would basically enable the students to carve out an enhanced growth path and make available multiple career opportunities within the organization.
The selection criterion was very meticulous based on Extempore, Voice Accent, Written Test and Personal Interview. The company selected 8 students who will join their duties after the completion of their final exams at a salary package offer of Rs. 1.96-2.40 lacs per annum.

The Placement Crusade on the Go!!! Revenue Technologies hired 3 students of BFGI

Baba Farid Group of Institutions held a campus placement drive for its Engineering Students of C.S.E. /IT stream on 21^st August where Revenue Technology Services paid a fecund visit to the campus. Revenue Technology Services Corporation has its roots in the first commercial yield management system, developed for republic Airlines on a mainframe in 1982. The company hired 3 students of BFGI. These selections were based on their key technical skills as well as highly effective communication skills. Ms. Shikha Aggarwal, Head, HR of RTS conducted an Online Test and the students were shortlisted for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. They were offered a package of Rs. 1.8 lacs per annum.

 

The Placement session for Engineering graduates at BFGI started with Data 64 Techno Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a company operating in making Cyber Lawswhich created anoutstanding milestone and proved as a wonderful stepping stone for future placement drives and students too gave desperately overwhelming response in this placement drive. The company hired 2 students of B.Tech. at a very attractive package of Rs. 1 million (10, 00000/-) per annum.

 

The placement movement furthered with another company visiting BFGI campus namely Mismo Infra which is Global IT Solutions company co-headquartered in US and India. They are a part of the 8 year old India based. Mismo Infra has evolved from a being an IT product development company that started 5 years ago to an IT solutions company with a proven capability of successfully executing global delivery projects. The company hired total 5 students of BFGI.

 

BFGI will take such initiatives in future as well to ensure 100% placement for its Engineering students by calling renowned companies at its doorstop thus creating tremendous prospectus for its students.

More Than 1000 Students Appeared At placement Drive held in BFGI Campus

Data64 selected Ms. Navneet Kaur and Ms. Mehakpreet Kaur B.Tech., Baba Farid College of Engineering and Technology at the annual package of Rs. 10 Lacs. Data64 visited BFGI Campus on July 27, 2012 for recruitments. Data64 deals in designing contingency plans, eDiscovery processes, digital forensic and cyber investigation services and managing regulatory compliance. The company visited the campus in order to hire final year students of B.Tech(CSE/IT/ECE) offering them whopping package of Rs 10 Lac p.a.

Mr. Rohas Nagpal, Chairman, Data64 Techno Solution Pvt. Ltd. & Mr. Rahul Mishra, Vice President Marketing, Data64 Techno Solution Pvt. Ltd. along with the recruitment team visited the campus for the selection procedure. The team expressed immense contentment on seeing the walk-in of more than 1000 students from colleges like Giani Zail Singh Engineering College, Rayat And Bahra Group, SUS Tangori, Acurate Group of Instituions Delhi, Khalsa College Amritsar and many other colleges from different states.
