Priyanka of Baba Farid College becomes University Topper

Baba Farid Group of Institutions has started B.Sc. (Computer Science, Statistics and Mathematics) last year; recently Punjabi University has declared the result of B.Sc. (CSM) 1st Semester in which the students of Baba Farid College have not only cleared the exams with first division but also some of the students have got top positions in the University merit list. Ms. Priyanka Rani, Student of Baba Farid College has bagged first position in University with 86.8% marks; on the other hand Ms. Mahek Rani has got fourth position in University with 85.6% marks. Other than these students, Gurjit Kaur, Shifali Garg and Rajwinder Kaur have got 83.8%, 83.6% and 80.6% marks respectively. Dr. Pardeep Kaura, Deputy Director, Academics congratulated the students for their achievement and offered them all kinds of help and assistance so that the students can perform even better in coming future.
Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, Baba Farid Group of Institutions, expressed his happiness and said that keeping in view the tremendous result of first batch of B.Sc.(CSM) and increasing number of enquiries for admissions in such courses the college has started another new course that is B.Sc. (Mathematics, Computer Applications and Management). He also explained the importance and demand of such kind of courses in the present world and promised 100% placement assistance for all the students.

NAAC accredits BFCE ‘A’ Grade

CGPA Ranking: First in Punjab and Fourth in India
BFCE was recently visited by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) Team headed by Prof. B.P. Bhatnagar, Retd. Vice Chancellor Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University, Udipur (Rajasthan) and member was Dr. S. Marlin, Principal Saint N’ College of Education, Sikandrabad (Andra Pardesh). The team comprehensively administration activities and labs, classrooms, hostels and playgrounds as well. The team gave its report to NAAC , after convening a meeting the council declared the result and BFCE was accredited “A” Grade because of its infrastructure, faculty and other features. It is a matter of pride that no other college in Punjab was able to get “A” Grade. NAAC team declared that infrastructure and amenities in BFCE were those of international standard. The team was much impressed by wi-fi system, QMS,ERP and group Insurance for all the students after analyzing the faculties and infrastructure in 66 college of West Bengal, Manipur, Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, etc.
The team found BFCE one and only college in India and at top in Punjab and fourth position in India CGPA ranking of 3.13 and second in all colleges of Education. It is worth mentioning that NAAC evaluate the institution after a close perusal of infrastructure and faculties for providing the students with quality education, moreover the institutes noy matching standard also can loose recognisation.
Chairman, Baba Farid Group of Institutions, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal expressing satisfaction and joy over this achievement, he congratulated principal and staff of BFCE and said that it was a matter of pride for the Group that BFCE has outshined among India’s 66 colleges by getting “A” Grade by NAAC. Principal BFCE, Dr. Naib Singh thanked the staff of BFCE and the Management of BFGI for this prestigious achievement.

World Earth Day Celebrated in BFGI

World earth Day was celebrated at Baba farid Group of Instituions. Mr. Balvinder Singh Aulakh, DEO(S) Bathinda graced the occasion as chief guest. Along with him S.Harcharan Singh,Distt. Guidance Counsellor and all the incharges of Eco club from various schools in the district were also present.
Mr. B D Sharma, Deputy Director, BFGI welcomed all the guests and explained the importance of conservation of the natural resources. He said that we should consider every day as world earth day and do efforts to save our unique planet.
Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, MD, Baba Farid Group of Institutions, said in his speech that the environmental pollution has its worst effect on the mankind. The diseases such as cancer, have become very common in the area due this pollution. He also motivated the people to plant more and more trees as trees are very helpful in decreasing the effect of pollution. He also mentioned that even in our holy books Earth has been given the status of mother and hence we should take care of our mother planet. He also told that ERP solution is successfully used at BFGI to decrease the paper consumption.
Mr. Aulakh appreciated the efforts of BFGI and said to all Incharges of Eco Club to teach every student and aware people about pollution. Many other dignitaries also share own views on World Earth Day.
At last the management of BFGI hounoured the guests. S. Sukhdev Singh Pakka,Director,BFGI gives vote of thanks. Sh. Hem Raj Sharma, Director BFGI, Dy. Directors, Principals, Faculty and Heads of Centralized departments of BFGI were also present there.

BFGI organised an Honoring Ceremony for Education Minister

Baba Farid Group of Institutions organsied an ‘Honouring Ceremony’, for S. Sikander Singh Maluka, Education Minister of Punjab, S. Mantar Singh Brar, Chief Parliamentary Sectary of Punjab, Sh. Sarup Chand Singla, Chief Parliamentary Sectary of Punjab, S.Darshan Singh Kotfatta, M.L.A,(Rural) Bathinda, on April 6, 2012. Chairman cum Managing Director of BFGI, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal formally welcomed all the prestigious guests and informed that the right career guidance & counselling play a vital role to select the right career option for the students. He stressed that we should take appropriate steps to eradicate drugs and coping menace to save our nation.
S. Sikander Singh Maluka appreciated the quality education and transparency in education, being provided by BFGI. He also informed that the Punjab Government is going to launch new policies very soon for the upliftment of education in government and make them able to compete with private schools.
Mr. Brar encouraged the youngsters for working hard to achieve succeed in their life and also informed that the Punjab government will reform the traditional education structure so that the quality of education can be improved. While thanking to the management of BFGI, Mr. Singla said,” We are always ready to adopt new and modified policies in education sector,” Mr. Gurmeet Singh, Director Public Relations of BFGI thanked all the guests.

More than 1000 students Shortlisted at BFGI MEGA JOB FAIR

Baba Farid Group of Institutions has not only played a dominant role in providing quality education to the students but has also been providing array of job opportunities to the aspirants making it the leading institute of Malwa region. It is the first institute to bring out the concept of Job Fairs in Malwa region in order to provide the region with wholesome employment openings.
Keeping its endeavor, BFGI’s Department of Training & Placement organized MEGA JOB FAIR in its campus on 7th April, 2012 wherein more than 50 companies including Café Coffee Day, Hero Electric, HDFC Bank, IDBI Intech, Manpower, Hindustan Times, Wipro, Interglobe Technology, NIIT, Tech Mahindra, Bharti Wal Mart, Amrit Durapart, Surya Health Care, Purisys, Dada Motors, GI Group, Eureka Forbes, Ind Swift, GB Group, Angel Broking, Genpact, Grospinz Fab, Indivar, Oswal Group, HBN Group and Godrej were welcomed by the department. The companies landed to hire the aspiring candidates who came to notch Dream jobs from different parts of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and NCR. The students from different colleges & universities such as Lovely Professional University, Punjabi University, Punjab University, Delhi University and Guru Nanak Dev University also visited the campus. It was an opening where not only fresher’s but also the candidates with work experience could grab the exciting jobs adding yet another success story to BFGI.
Company officials were appeased to see heavy walk-in of 3884 candidates and appreciated the zeal among the applicants. After the initial rounds of group discussions and interviews the number of candidates shortlisted crossed the magical figure of 1000.
Intec Capital offered package of 2.5 lacs per annum and Sam Advisory offered the packages upto 4 lacs per annum.

Jasdeep Singh, a student from Professional University, told that Baba Farid Group of Institutions is known for providing such kind of platforms for the students.
Mr.Mohit Sinha, senior executive,Wipro, was very impressed by the number of candidates who appeared and the arrangements by BFGI. He told that he had interviewed around 300 candidates.
Mr. Jha, representative of “Manpower” told that he had interviewed more than 70 candidates and shortlisted 50 out of them.

Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Managing Director, BFGI applauded the efforts of the Department and attributed success of the Job Fair to Mr. Gaurav Garg along with his dedicated team saying that the team has worked really hard on the event. An Open Discussion organises at BFGI on the concept of ‘LIVE GREEN’

The prime focus of BFGI is to provide all round development of the students to make them aware of the problems occurring around in our environment. So that, they can work for the creation of a healthy society. Post Liberalization, the rapidly growing technology has no doubt smoothened our lives but our ignorance towards nature played havoc with environment. In order to eradicate this ignorance towards nature, Baba Farid Group of Institutions has started a movement “LIVE GREEN: STEP TOWARDS BETTER LIVING”. An open Discussion on the above theme was organised by BFGI, on March 29, 2012 on the premises of campus. Dr, Pardeep Kaura, Deputy Director Academics anchored this discussion.
Mr. B.D. Sharma, Deputy Director Activities warmly welcomed Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal, a well recognised an environmentalist and eco-activist, Mr. Ashok Kumar Kalsi, SE of Punjab Pollution Control Board, Sant Daya Singh, Mr. D.K. Singla, XEN and Mr. Balbir Singh Baling (Ex- Chairman Bar Council Chandigarh).
While giving the answers of questions asked by the audience, Sant Seehewal Showed his concern about polluted environment and said,” We are facing water scarcity these days, as the ground water level has gone down. But, this can be changed. The flow of polluted water in free-flowing natural rivers has blocked the recharging process. Whatever work we have done in cleaning up the Kali Bein rivulet it was for the welfare of mankind. No other work can be more sacred than this. It is said in the Bani that it is better to save a creature, than to take bath in 68 holy places of pilgrimage.” He told that we should be aware of our laws and rights to save our environment resources in perfect shape.
Managing Director of BFGI, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal informed that BFGI has formed an Awareness Campaigning team of dedicated members working towards the promotion of LIVE GREEN. Campaigning team is going in different schools, colleges and neighboring areas to aware the society about the optimum use of non-renewable resources. BFGI team is also visiting and associating with Colleges, NGOs, Schools, Clubs, Private, Government, and Semi Government organizations, so that we can work unitedly towards making the world greener. Literature related to the above mentioned cause is also distributing to the different sections of society.
Mr. Kalsi requested to people to summit written complaints if they want appropriate actions towards their problems related to the environment. He also threw the light on the available environmental laws and asked for full public cooperation.

BFGI organises a function on Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s martyrdom day

Baba Farid Group of Institutions organised a function on martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, on March 23, 2012. The key note speaker of the occasion was Dr. Jagtar Singh Joga, Associate Professor Nehru Memorial College, Mansa.
Managing Director of BFGI, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal welcomed to all the guests and encouraged the students that the aim of the life should not only control the mind but to develop it harmoniously. We should be practical in our life towards our aim and adopt positive attitude to achieve it.
While delivering his speech, Mr. Joga threw the light on Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s life and stressed upon, to adopt his positive thinking in our life as well, to be good a citizen. He added that we need to do more research thoroughly and deeply to change our society in reformed form.
On this occasion, two documentaries presented by Baba Farid College of Engg & Tech., which depicts about the life of Bhagat Singh’s life in a very touchy way. A short play also played by Mr. Jatinder Singh, a student of BFGI which make the atmosphere very emotional. Besides this, some magic tricks were also shown by Tarksheel Society. ’Mera Rang De Basanti Chola’ sang by Mr. Phankar and Mr. Gulrej Khan, the students of BFGI.
