BFGI Scholarship Test gets huge response; more than 5000 students appeared

Baba Farid Group of Institutions has, announced ‘BFGI Scholarship & Concession Policy-2012’ worth Rs.1 Crore. Taking this initiative further BFGI conducted Scholarship Test was organized for the students of class 10th and 12th on 19th February 2012, which got huge response and the total number of students crossed 5000. The students from not only different states of Punjab but also from neighboring states like Haryana, Rajasthan, etc appeared for the test. In this test, students achieving 85% or more marks will get 100%, students achieving 80% or more marks will get 50%, students achieving 75% or more marks will get 25%, students achieving 70% or more marks will get 15% concession in the tuition fee. Besides this students achieving 1st position will get a Laptop, 2nd position will get a Desktop Computer, 3rd position will get a Digital Camera and next 20 positions will get Wrist Watches as consolation. All these prizes will be given separately for position holders from 10th and 12th classes.
The Question Paper of this scholarships test was based upon Aptitude, English and General Knowledge. Free bus facility for students within the radius of 100 km was made available, registration of all the students participating in the tests was also free of cost.
On this occasion, Managing Director of BFGI, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal gave best wishes to the students and told that this Scholarship Test will give double benefit to the students by providing the opportunity to avail the scholarship/concession on the basis of percentage achieved in the Scholarship Test.

Green Tech Fest of BFGI magnetizes large numbers of visitors on its second day also

The second day of the Green Tech Fest was organized by Baba Farid Group of Institutions also, as enthusiastic as the first day, where large number of schools’/ colleges’ Principals, Teachers and students visited the fest.
Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Managing Director, BFGI welcomed to the Chief Guest of the occasion, Mr.Tajinderpal Singh Sidhu, Chief Executive, Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA). As the special guests, Bargedor A. Raj. Kapoor, Col. J.S.Gundara, Dr. Jasvir Singh Hundal, Principal Giani Zail Singh Regional Campus PTU, Mr. Harcharan Singh, District Guidance Counselor, Bathinda and Uminder Datt, Kheti Virasat, Jaito were also present at the event.
Mr. Dhaliwal said that students are the future of any country, so they should take the initiative to promote this concept on the enormous level to save our earth. Mr. Sidhu cherished the gracious and highly praised that this is the first time when such social initiative has been taken by an Educational institute.
“We have established our weapons and recycling stalls for the common people, because of BFGI’s noble and social cause to save our earth. We got tremendously response from the people towards these projects”, said Bargedor A. Raj. Kapoor.
It is worth mentioning that Indian Army and Indian Airforce have participated in this Fest, where more than 10,000 people visited the fest and more than 1500 students participated in the fest to show their talent. For entertaining the crowd, various games, cultural activities, entertainment programs and various stalls offered eatables for the visitors and participants was also the part of the fest. Some live models like Eco-Friendly Refrigerator, Wind saver Demo models, Water purifiers, Hydraculic Robotic, Rain Water Harvesting live models etc were create useful information to the visitors, that how can we protect our environment through eco friendly way.

Mr. Pardeep Sra, Voice of Punjab, Giddha and Malwai Giddha presented by school kids bound the time for a while. The Nukkar Natak’ Mennu Ki, Tennu Ki, Apan no ki’ directed by Mr. Toni Batish also represented the problems of global warming in magnificent way.
In the Poster Making competitions more than 450 students got participated, in which Sanawar, Dashmesh Public School Faridkot, Sidhant, Baba Farid College of Engg. & Tech., Bathinda and Amandeep, Giani Zail Singh Engg. & Tech. got 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
In the Model Making competitions more than 450 students got participated, where Govt High School Madhir, Baba Farid College Bathinda, Baba Farid College of Engg. & Tech. got 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions.
More than 400 students got participated in the Best out of Waste Material competitions, where K.V.5, Bathinda, R.I.E.T., Abohar, and Govt Polytechnic College, Bathinda had 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

Save earth for posterity is Green Tech Fest’s leitmotif

The prime motive of BFGI as an Educational Group is to promote quality education and over all development of the students. As a tradition every year is dedicated to some social and noble cause. Treading the same path, Year 2012 has been dedicated to promote the concept of “LIVE GREEN: STEP TOWARDS BETTER LIVING”. Under this campaign, ‘Green Tech Fest’, is being organized in the premises of BFGI, today.
Managing Director of BFGI, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal welcomed to the Chief Guest of the opening ceremony of fest, General Anil Verma, Chief of Staff HQ 10 Core. Mr. Verma articulated his worry on the global warming and said this is a unique and great effort of BFGI to take better care of earth but it serves to protect and sustain the natural resources for coming generations
Mr. Dhaliwal thanked to Indian Army and Indian Airforce to establish their stalls first time out of the cantonment area for the common people. Mr. Dhaliwal expressed his concern over environment pollution and extravagant use of natural resources. He said that Post Liberalization, the rapidly growing technology has no doubt smoothened our lives but our ignorance towards nature has played havoc with environment. In order to eradicate this ignorance towards nature, we have to follow some basic precautions.
In this fest near about 10,000 people visited the fest and more than 1500 students participated in the fest to show their talent. LIVE and DEMO models depicting the theme were displayed by International Corporate Houses as Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), Chevrolet, Eco Gas Dispensing and many more. It is worth mentioning that Indian Army and Indian Airforce have participating in the Fest. BFGI claims the GREEN TECH FEST is to be attached with human prosperity by promoting organic farming, optimum use of wind power, solar energy, water conservation and reducing wastage of electricity.
Various competitions like Painting, Model Making and Best out of Waste based on the concept of LIVE GREEN were also organized in this fest. This helped students to create useful products by reusing and recycling waste.

BFGI all set for GREEN TECH FEST

Baba Farid Group of Institutions has always concentrated upon important but ignored to social issues. Since 2009 each year had been dedicated to a noble and social cause i.e. Social welfare, placements and youth development respectively. Following the tradition BFGI has dedicated year 2012 to LIVE GREEN: Step towards better living. This refers to adopting the nature friendly practices that centre on sources conservation efforts, using natural resources wisely and in general making our actions eco-friendly. Along with the campaigns carried out in various schools, colleges, Institutions and NGO for creating the awareness to the theme, BFGI is organizing a GREEN TECH FEST in the campus on 15th and 16th February 2012.
Mr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, MD, BFGI expressed his concern over environment pollution and extravagant use of natural resources. While addressing a press conference he said that the GREEN TECH FEST is an effort to give boost LIVE GREEN Campaign. It is for the first time that such initiative has been taken by an Educational institute.
The agenda of the GREEN TECH FEST is to sensitize our people towards the need for environmental protection, educate them about global warming and make them aware of alternative energy sources and extraction of energy from garbage and waste material.
Adopting a GREEN lifestyle is not simply an effort to take better care of earth but it serves to protect and sustain the natural resources for coming generations and this will be the prime focus of Green Tech Fest -encouraging masses for preservation of natural resources and taking measures in order to resort to 3R’s i.e Reduce, Recycle and Reuse in our daily life. LIVE and DEMO models depicting the theme will be displayed by International Corporate Houses as SUZLON(Leader in wind-mill generators), IBM(Leader in energy saving computers), Punjab Energy Development Agency(PEDA), Chevorlet, Eco Gas Dispensing and many more. It is worth mentioning that Indian Army and Indian Airforce will also be participating in the Fest. BFGI claims the GREEN TECH FEST is to be attached with human prosperity by promoting organic farming, optimum use of wind power, solar energy, water conservation and reducing wastage of electricity. Information will also be imparted on these resources and inculcate in people the healthy habits to contribute towards this social cause.
Various competitions like Painting, Model Making and Best out of Waste based on the concept of LIVE GREEN will be organized. This will help students to create useful products by reusing and recycling waste. Cash Prizes of Rs. 11000/-, Rs. 5100/- and Rs. 2100/- will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd postion holders of Model Making Competition. Attractive Cash prizes will be given to the participants of other competitions. No registration fee will be charged from participants. The students from various streams are invited to participate zealously in these competitions. The FEST will also include cultural activities, entertainment programs and various stalls offering eatables for the visitors and participants.
General Anil Verma, Chief of Staff HQ 10 Core will the Chief Guest in the inaugural ceremony on February 15, 2012. Closing Ceremony on February 16,2012 will be presided over by Mr.T P S Sidhu, Chief Executive, Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA).
